Paul and Giselaine Coulombe have donated $10,000 to kick-start the new boys lacrosse team at Boothbay Region High School. On Monday, March 25, the team had its first practice at the BRHS gymnasium and it was all smiles.

“We’re honored to support programs that enrich the lives of the youth in our community. The schools are the heart and soul of our community. Offering dynamic programming for our youth is so important,” said Paul and Giselaine Coulombe.

Many of the players came up through the youth program at the Boothbay Region YMCA. There was a lot of interest from the players to continue to play in high school but there was no team, until now.

“I applaud the efforts of Scott and Haili Hardwick to ensure that the boys’ hope of continuing to play in high school became a reality,” said Paul Coulombe.

Following the first practice, Scott Hardwick said, “You can’t imagine what this means to me and the boys. So happy to get this going!”
