Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor virtual services

Tue, 05/04/2021 - 7:30am

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we would like to thank all of our teachers in this region and all over the world for their dedication to our youth especially during this time when things are so uncertain. We hold you up in love and light.

Please join the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor for live worship Sundays at 10 a.m. You can join us at www.congochurchbbh.orgFacebook, or tune into BRTV, channel 7 or 1301 for Spectrum subscribers.

During the season of Eastertide, we will explore a new worship series, The Spirit’s Fire. The season of Eastertide culminates in the wild imagery of the Holy Spirit appearing at the first Pentecost as tongues of fire that fills the disciples with power and sends them out to share the Good News. (Acts 2:1-21).

Over the next weeks, we’ll ponder scriptural texts that explore this Holy Spirit fire that; illuminates paths in bold new directions, inflames our hearts and sends us out in love and service, stretches our boundaries and challenges our comfort zones, and opens our eyes to the possibility that some cherished practices, entrenched attitudes and life-limiting perspectives may need to die in order for the Spirit to bring to life the “new thing” that God longs to cultivate within and among us. Together we’ll wonder, where might the Holy Spirit be encouraging us to embrace new perspectives or explore new directions? Where might the Holy Spirit be encouraging us to let go of programs or initiatives that have outlived their effectiveness? What might happen if we followed the Spirit’s way?

On May 9, the Sixth Sunday of Easter and Mother’s Day, join Rev. Peter Ilgenfritz as he delivers his sermon, “The Spirit’s Power” and explores Daniel 3:8-30 where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego miraculously survive the furnace of blazing fire.

Send prayer joys and concerns to Prayer Chain Coordinator, Barbara Fritz at bfritz105@gmail.com; Note if you would like to have your prayer shared on Sunday during worship.

You may submit your offerings online at www.congochurchbbh.org, or mail to Congo Church BBH, P.O. Box 468, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.
