Wed, 10/14/2020 - 8:15am

Please join the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor for live worship Sundays at 10 a.m. You can join us at www.congochurchbbh.orgFacebook, or tune into BRTV, channel 7 for Spectrum subscribers. Our Fall Worship Series, Humility Revisited: Values to Ground Us, begins today. This series is based on Twelve Steps to Inner Freedom: Humility Revisited, Joan D. Chittister. We’ll consider this fall the value and gifts of Humility and how the practices we’ll consider of remembering and restoring right relationship can help us all navigate with hope and faith, courage and conviction the tumultuous months before us.

This week, interim Pastor Peter Ilgenfritz will explore Quieting the Noise Within. He will examine chapters Listen to People and Speak Kindly to Others from Joan Chittister's book, “Twelve Steps to Inner Freedom: Humility Revisited.”

Adult Christian Education classes have resumed via Zoom on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. They will be studying America's Long Struggle Against Slavery. Folks should contact Barbara Fritz at bfritz105@gmail.com a Zoom link if you wish to join.

Send prayer joys and concerns to Prayer Chain Coordinator, Barbara Fritz at bfritz105@gmail.com. Note if you would like to have your prayer shared on Sunday during worship.

You may submit your offerings online at www.congochurchbbh.org, or mail to Congo Church BBH, P.O. Box 468, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

We are happy to invite you to our second Church Social Gathering at the Railway Village on Sunday, Oct. 18 from noon to 2 p.m. Space is limited — We are permitted to have up to 40 cars form a circle on the big field, so the first 40 vehicles that sign up will be able to attend. Last month 20 cars attended, so we certainly had room for more. A reminder — there may be more than one person per car. We invite you to bring a sandwich, a drink, and a chair and dress warmly to enjoy a socially distanced tailgate lunch. Masks will be required when walking around to talk with friends.

Please call Heather Lorrain, church administrator, at (207) 633-4757 to reserve a spot. Note: The only restroom available will be the one at the Town Hall.
