Congo Church youth group to collect items for Animal Shelter
On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Junior High Youth Group at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor will be going door-to-door in the surrounding neighborhood to collect clean and gently-used towels, dish cloths, comforters and blankets for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. The shelter always has a need for these items, and it is a great opportunity for the rest of us to do a little fall clean-up of those outdated guest towels and old blankets that are never used. The youth group will be meeting at the Congregational Church at 12:30 p.m., and will begin the walk before 1 p.m.
Items should be clean and in good condition. To donate other items too, please check out the shelter’s website at http://lincoln.coastalhumanesociety.org/donate/wish-list/. From dish soap to dog treats, our community can help supply some of these items to ensure the shelter can focus on helping their animals.
If you have items you would like to donate, but won’t be around on Sunday afternoon or are worried you are not on the route, please contact the church at (207) 633-4757. Items can be collected by youth group leaders at a different time to be included in the donation.
