Chop suey and pizza potlucks coming up
Over 50 people enjoyed the holiday atmosphere at the December potluck. The hall was very festive with decorations and seasonal music. Attendees were celebratory. The Christmas tree, which had been decorated by Ron and Jane, was especially pretty. It was a fun evening and a great kick off to everyone’s holiday celebrations.
Evelyn acknowledged those who had helped during the year with a special shout out for Judy who had organized the holiday tea and workshop. Evelyn received well deserved kudos for all her efforts throughout the year.
The Christmas tea/workshop was held on the day of the first big snow but over 10 folks braved the weather to help wrap presents for the island children, make centerpieces for themselves and the hall, learn how to make a perfect bow, and to enjoy tea and sweets.
They are coming back. If you were at the August potluck, you know why. Super cooks Howie and Brian will be providing the main course for the January 15, 2014 potluck. This time it will be American chop suey. So please bring an appetizer, a side dish or a dessert to share along with your beverage of choice. As always coffee, tea and water will be available.
And another “back by popular demand.” Chef Alan will be making pizzas for all for the February potluck. It is important that Alan has a count of those attending so that the ingredients can be shopped for. Please call Judy at 207-633-5341 to RSVP for this fun night.
