Boothbay wins at Mountain Valley

The Boothbay Region Seahawks improved to 8-2 on the season with a 65-53 win at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford Thursday, Jan. 9.

The Seahawks, seeded second in Class C South, led most of the game against the Falcons, who fell to 3-7 on the season and are seeded ninth in Class B South.

Boothbay took a commanding first quarter lead, 28-11, behind four three-pointers, one by Sullivan Rice and three by Kaeden Davis.

Three players provided the bulk of the scoring for Boothbay, with Davis leading with 23 points, followed by Hunter Crocker with 18 and Ben Pearce with 13.

Cooper Davis had 26 points for the Falcons.

The Seahawks are next scheduled to host the Carrabec Cobras Monday, Jan. 13. The Cobras are 1-9 on the season.
