Tennis is a game where tiebreakers determine a winner and the Boothbay Region High School boys’ team came out a winner after match play and sets won remained tied in their home match against Carrabec on Wednesday, May 15.

According to BRHS coach Mark Gorey, “Both teams defaulted #2 doubles due to an insufficient number of players. And because both teams won two of the countable matches, the Maine Principals Association Tennis Bulletin says that the next discriminating factor is which team won the most sets; both teams won four sets total. The next determining factor is which team won the most games; in today's match, Boothbay won 31 games and Carrabec 30; thus, Boothbay won the overall match.”

The victory evened Boothbay’s record at 4-4 on the season. The Seahawks are currently in fourth place in Class C South, behind #1 Winthrop, #2 Dirigo and #3 Waynflete.
