American Legion Post 36 is holding a “huge” barbecue fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. to benefit the Post’s Boothbay V.E.T.S. program. Boothbay Veterans Emergency Temporary Shelter (V.E.T.S.) program retrofits 7-foot x 10-foot cargo trailers to give veterans housing until they can be placed in a shelter or permanent home.

The barbecue, featuring a jazz band and games for children and adults, will be held at the Post located on Industrial Park Road off Route 27 in Boothbay. Pulled pork, baked beans, chili dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and drinks will be available. Adult donation, $12 and $6 for children under age 12.
