Boothbay transfer station changing procedures during outbreak

Wed, 03/18/2020 - 8:15am

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the transfer station has implemented the following changes effective immediately:

1.The recycling building is now closed to the public. All recycling will be put into the trash to eliminate exposure for our staff. Our trash goes to Coastal Resource which pulls the recycling from the garbage automatically.

2.No picking/salvaging will be permitted. To eliminate any chance of groups and to keep the CDC recommended social distancing this will help enforce that. Any person seen picking will be asked to leave.

3.We ask that residents please dump your trash and leave. The transfer station has always been a social place to meet friends and neighbors, but we must stop that for now. Employees will remind residents to please not linger while coming to the transfer station.

We are trying to adhere to CDC guidelines while protecting the employees’ and public’s safety. We hope these changes will be temporary so please bear with us during these difficult times. Any questions please call us at 633-5006 or email steve@boothbayrefuse.com
