Boothbay shuts out Telstar

Senior tri-captain Chloe Arsenault scored five goals and assisted on another as the Boothbay Region Seahawks shut out the visiting Telstar Rebels, 6-0, in field hockey at Perkins Field Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 25.

The win improved Boothbay’s record to 4-4 with six games left in the regular season. Telstar dropped to 1-8.

Arsenault, the team’s leading scorer, tallied four of her goals in the first half. Coach Donna Jordan used players at various positions during the second half. Freshman Mara Gentry scored the Seahawks’ only other goal on an assist from Arsenault. Boothbay had 30 shots on goal while the Rebels only managed to get five shots on goal.

The Seahawks are scheduled to play at Hall-Dale (1-6) on Friday, Sept. 27. The team’s next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2 against Mountain Valley (6-2).
