Tue, 04/09/2019 - 8:15am

The board and staff of the Boothbay Region Health Center are gearing up for their second annual "Cure Your Spring Fever" fundraiser, which will be held on Thursday, April 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tugboat Inn. Tickets are $30 when purchased in advance at the Boothbay Region Health Center in the Meadow Mall, or at the Tugboat Inn office, and $35 on the day of the party. Tickets include heavy hors d'oeuvres and two drinks per person.

A number of generous sponsors are helping to defray the expenses of the event. Sponsors to-date include: Bath Savings Bank, East Boothbay General Store, Nat Wilson Sailmakers, Knickerbocker Lake Association and the Pharmers Market.

Silent auction items for spring landscaping include compost from the Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm, gravel from Reny Construction, and a gardener's gift basket of tools, books and seeds. Seasonal entertainment options include riding lessons at Burke Island Farm, sailing on the Eastwind, or chartering the Nellie G II for a cruise with family and friends. Local food includes a gift certificate from Pinkham's Seafood, as well as dining at Ports of Italy, and chocolates from Orne's Candy, an oyster plate from Allison Evans and oysters from Glidden Point Oysters. Beauty treatments include a pedicure and beauty products from Shear Artistry. For sprucing up your home and/or gift-giving, we have stunning local photographs from photographers Bob Crink, Nat Wilson, and a print of a painting from Dennis Volpe. More items to come. Silent auction bidding started Tuesday, April 9 at the Boothbay Region Health Center and concludes at the party on April 18.

Health Center board members and staff will report briefly on our first year of operation, our new Opioid Recovery Clinic, and the new services we'll be unveiling in May and June.
