Boothbay postpones town meeting
This year’s Boothbay town meeting won’t happen on the first Monday of May. On April 22, selectmen held their first regularly scheduled board meeting since the state’s stay at home order and decided to postpone the referendum town meeting due to the coronavirus.
No date was set for the meeting, but Tuesday, July 14 was mentioned as a possibility. Maine rescheduled the June primary due to coronavirus concerns and set July 14 as the alternate date.
In other action, selectmen approved Scott Campbell’s resignation as regional Emergency Management Agency director. Campbell led Boothbay’s, Boothbay Harbor’s and Southport’s efforts as department head. Selectmen also approved appointing Assistant Director Michael Ciccarelli to replace Campbell. The next scheduled selectmen’s meeting is at 7 p.m. May 13.
