In an afternoon contest in Jay Saturday, the Boothbay Region Seahawks improved to 10-2 with a 39-25 win over the Spruce Mountain Phoenix.

Boothbay opened up its 20-19 halftime lead by outscoring Spruce Mountain 8-0 in the third quarter.

Glory Blethen scored 13, Chloe Arsenault 12 and Kylie Brown eight points to lead the Seahawks.

The Phoenix (3-9) were led by Mariyah Fournier with eight points and Jaycee Cole with seven.

Depending on the availability of officials, Boothbay is expected to host Madison on Monday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in a make-up game from Thursday, according to BRHS Athletic Director Allan Crocker.
