Boothbay hosts Class E football playoff game tonight

No. 1 Seahawks host No.4 Sacopee Valley at 7 p.m.

Boothbay kicks off the Class E football playoffs tonight with a 7 p.m. game against Sacopee Valley of Hiram at Sherman Field. Boothbay enters the game as the division’s top-rated team, and having an 8-0 record. Sacopee Valley is 3-5 and finished fourth in the six-team division.

Boothbay defeated Sacopee Valley, 8-6, on Oct. 6 in Hiram. The other Class E playoff game pits No. 2 Maranacook Community School against No. 3 Camden Hills. The two winning teams will play for the Class E championship next weekend.

Boothbay head coach Ed Crocker won’t attend tonight’s playoff game. Crocker is battling a leg infection after being bitten by a cat, according to his wife Candie Hunter Crocker.
