Boothbay Harbor selectmen welcomed newcomers Ken Rayle and Alyssa Allen to the board and to their first meeting as municipal officers May 10. The board unanimously chose Chair Mike Tomko and Vice Chair Tricia Warren to continue their roles for the next year.

Town Manager Julia Latter said the May 7 election and May 8 annual town meeting were successful, bringing in 307 votes and maintaining a well-spaced audience. She thanked Town Clerk Michelle Farnham, the ballot clerks, the moderator and all for their support and participation.

Tomko also thanked all the elections' candidates for their willingness to put themselves out in the open with hopes to represent and serve residents. “I know there are of course always individuals who aren't elected and I plan on reaching out to them to see how else the town can meet their desire to serve and be a part of municipal government. We really appreciate the effort that everyone shows toward participating and we want to make sure that there's a place and a home for those efforts.”

Selectmen approved liquor license renewals for Spruce Point Inn, Ports of Italy, Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club and Brisetto's Second Cup; new liquor licenses for Captain Sawyer's Bed and Breakfast and Harborside 1901 Bar and Grill; a special amusement license for BHYC; a victualer license for Captain Sawyer's; and an outdoor event license for Harbor Theater Movie Night.
