Boothbay falls to Spruce Mountain

The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team didn’t give up, trailing 5-0, in the second half to the host Spruce Mountain Phoenix on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Behind senior Chloe Arsenault’s three second-half goals, the Seahawks closed the gap to 5-3, but the Phoenix went on to win, 7-3, and boost their record to 9-4.

With the loss, the Seahawks, still seeded sixth in Class C South, fell to 5-7.

Spruce Mountain senior Emily Castonguay had four goals, while junior teammate Hanni Johnson scored two and senior Karissa Ritter scored one.

Boothbay was scheduled to finish the regular season with a game at Oak Hill on Monday, Oct. 14 and a rescheduled home game on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. The last game is the final regular season home game for seniors Arsenault, Hali Goodwin and Josey Smith.
