The Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team fought hard and nearly pulled off an upset but lost its quarterfinal match, 3-2, at Dirigo Thursday, May 31. Last week, Dirigo defeated BRHS, 4-1, in Boothbay Harbor.
BRHS, ranked sixth in Class C South, won two of the three singles matches against the Cougars. Dirigo, ranked third, advances to the semifinals to face second-seeded Hall-Dale, which defeated Wiscasset, 5-0, Thursday.
The Seahawks ended their season at 3-8.
