Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival is celebrating its 53rd festival at the Litchfield Fairgrounds, 30 Plains Road. Gates open at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. Weekend tickets for each festival will cover four days of great music and camping from Thursday to Saturday and Sunday Morning Gospel Sing Along and Jam with Robinson’s Bluegrass Gospel (MA). Day tickets are also available at the gate.

There will be several types of vendors located on the grounds and an extra large tent for cover. Just bring your lawn chairs and come have a great time. The festival grounds have: a big stage; indoor bathroom facilities (for free hot showers for campers) and numerous water hookups and electrical hookups.There are accommodations for buses, RVs, campers, and tents.

Performers: Friday, Aug. 23: Lonesome River Band (TN), Back Woods Road (ME), The Bluegrass Brothers (VA), Bluegrass Diamonds (NB), The Company (MA); Thursday, Aug. 22: Junior Sisk (VA), Back Woods Road (ME), The Bluegrass Brothers (VA); Saturday, Aug. 24: The Gibson Brothers (NY), The Po’ Ramblin Boys (TN), Bluegrass Diamonds (NB), The Company (MA), host band Blistered Fingers (ME).

You’ll also be hearing  a lot of field picking throughout the festival. We also have the Blistered Fingers Kids Academy, a free, relaxed, informative three-day music program for children for ages 6-18. The focus is how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music. Students can bring their own instruments and will commit to the three-day program. The kids all get a free T-Shirt and perform a couple of songs as a group on main stage.

This bluegrass festival takes place twice every year and brings thousands of music lovers from all over the world to Litchfield, Maine to hear banjos, fiddles, and high, lonesome harmonies. This event features many worldwide and local bands. This festival has something for all ages and has occurred every June and August since 1991.
