Belfast defeats Boothbay for Busline title

The Midcoast elementary school field hockey machine known as the Troy Howard Lions won another Busline League title, defeating the Boothbay Region Wildcats 3-0 at Point Lookout in Lincolnville Saturday morning, Oct. 19.

The game was even and scoreless in the first half, but Belfast went on to score three goals in the final 30 minutes and held Boothbay from scoring.

Boothbay, which finished the year at 6-2-1, advanced to the championship with a 4-2 win over Oceanside Middle School at Perkins Field, Boothbay Region High School on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Troy Howard defeated Camden to get to the championship game. According to the Village Soup newspaper, Troy Howard has not lost a game in its last 60, going 59-0-1.

Boothbay had tied and lost to Troy Howard during the regular season.
