Alumni Association seeks input
The Boothbay Region High School Alumni Association officers want to know your thoughts about the idea to possibly hold an Alumni Reunion.
Lynn Orne Martin, president of the Association, along with vice president Howie Barter, treasurer Ann Reed and secretary Kathy Page, have discussed holding a reunion for all Boothbay Region alumni, possibly the weekend before Columbus Day weekend in October.
This past spring, for the first time in decades, the association did not hold an Alumni Banquet/Reception due to a lack of interest by BRHS seniors and alumni. Over the past couple of years, the banquet dwindled to just a small reception, with about half the graduating class and their parents and only a handful of alumni attending in 2012.
“We are toying with the idea of holding an event with a happy hour, dinner and dancing,” said Martin. “We don't want it to be too costly, but we can't delay because of availability.”
Martin said the officers have checked into a few businesses around region but they still want ideas from alumni.
