Adult Ed Learning Center & GED Prep
The Learning Center at Boothbay Region Adult Ed begins the fall semester on September 24, 6:15-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Learning Center provides not only GED prep, but also adult literacy, college or vocational prep, and help with English, math, science or social studies skills.
Now is the time to get your GED diploma because beginning in January 2014 the GED test will be changing, and anyone who has not completed and passed all five subject tests will need to begin all over. The new test is expected to be more difficult to pass.
If you left high school before graduating, whether it’s been a few years or 40 years, you can still earn your diploma, and now is the time to do it. Maybe you had to leave school to help take care of your family or didn't think a high school diploma was important.
A GED diploma can open doors to a better job, vocational training, and college. Earning a GED in Maine is completely free. All preparation, exams, books and materials are provided at no cost to the student. Accommodations for the GED exam are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
