Tri-County Literacy’s ninth annual Candy Cane Train

Hop on the Candy Cane Train Dec. 13 and 14 for some holiday fun and meanwhile help Tri-County Literacy.

The ninth annual Candy Cane Train from Bath to Wiscasset and back on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 and 14 will feature four runs at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Maine Eastern Railroad train departs from the Bath Train Station at 34 Wing Farm Parkway.

Santa Claus and his elves will be on board the train and Mrs. Claus will greet everyone in the station. Model trains will be on display in the station, where train passengers will be treated to a cup of hot chocolate. While on the scenic train ride, enjoy cookies, stories and songs of the season.

All proceeds benefit Tri-County Literacy, a nonprofit organization working in Midcoast Maine to improve lives through literacy. The Candy Cane Train is sponsored by Davenport Trust and Bath Savings Institution.
