Sportsman’s Alliance endorses Dana Dow

Former State Senator and Representative Dana Dow, who is a candidate for Maine Senate District 13, has received an A+ rating and endorsement from the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine (SAM).

SAM is the state’s largest sportsman’s organization with more than 10,000 members. In considering their ratings, SAM took a number of factors into consideration, including the candidates’ stance on issues such as trapping, controlling the deer population, use of public lands, and other hunting-related issues.

“I am extremely honored to have received this endorsement from SAM,” Dow said. “Although SAM usually endorses an incumbent legislator over their opposing candidate, the organization decided to not only endorse me but also give me their highest rating.”

“I believe this rating speaks volumes about my support for hunting, fishing, and Second Amendment rights in Maine. I worked hard to protect these rights during previous years in Augusta, and that is something that I will continue to fight for.”

Dana Dow is a former schoolteacher and legislator, having served in the House of Representatives for two years and in the Maine Senate for four years, and is the president and co-owner of Dow Furniture Company. He lives in Waldoboro with his wife Lisa. Senate District 13 includes communities in Lincoln, Knox, and Kennebec counties.
