The Boothbay Region High School Seahawks continue to roll along as the top seed in Western Maine Class C boys basketball as they picked up two more easy wins over Carrabec and Wiscasset and are now 14-1 on the season.

On Friday, Jan. 23, the Seahawks fell behind 5-0 to visiting Carrabec but went on to score 19 of the next 22 to lead 19-8 after one period on way to a 71-24 victory.

Abel Bryer scored the Seahawks' first four points on a pair of offensive rebounds before Julian Aponte added a three-pointer. John Hepburn would hit on his first hoop of the night a jumper along the baseline as he would finish with a team-high 12 points.

Jacob Leonard would score twice on the fast break in the period as the Seahawks were again turning steals into easy opportunities in the transition game as well as running well out of missed shots. John Hepburn would rip down a rebound and go coast-to-coast to score from the block and add a free throw late in the period.

Joseph DiMauro scored six points in the second period and finished with 11 on the night to go along with 10 rebounds. Nick Gorey also had a good second period as the junior also added six points on a jumper from the right corner and a pair of fast break hoops. At the break the Seahawks had built a 36-14 advantage.

On Monday, Jan. 26, the Wiscasset Wolverines were the latest victim as the Seahawks again took control very early, scoring 20 first period points on their way to a 86-46 victory. After Brandon Sprague gave Wiscasset its only lead of the night on a three-pointer, Seahawk Evan Hepburn answered with a three of his own followed by a three-point play by Aponte.

Hepburn would score twice more and Leonard would go coast-to-coast, followed by a John Hepburn fast break hoop, that would push the lead to 14-3. John Hepburn would lead the scoring with 17 points with Aponte adding 14, Bryer 12 and Evan Hepburn 11.

The Seahawks are scheduled to host Hall-Dale on Thursday, Jan. 29 and Winthrop on Monday, Feb. 2 before closing out the regular season at Madison on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
