Behind 21 points from sophomore point guard Kyle Ames, the Boothbay Region Seahawk varsity boys basketball team eliminated the visiting Hall-Dale Bulldogs from tournament play in Augusta next week, 43-34, Wednesday night, Feb. 10.

Ames hit 5 three-pointers in the game which remained close until the final four-plus minutes, when the Seahawks outscored the Bulldogs, 10-3.

Sixth-ranked Boothbay (12-7) will now face third-seeded Madison (15-3) in the quarterfinal round of the Class C South tournament on Monday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center. Hall-Dale finishes its season at 11-8.

Senior Abel Bryer and junior Jacob Leonard each finished with nine points for Boothbay. Bryer also had five blocked shots and 11 rebounds. Leonard had eight rebounds.

Tyler Nadeau led Hall-Dale with 11 points.
