Dear Editor:

The New Hope for Women event was a success in so many ways and the generosity of our community — both privately and corporately never ceases to amaze me. Even after the event was done — and as I went to pay for the event’s large order at Eventide Specialties including a huge tray of the most delicious Baklava I have ever had — I was surprised when Kim, the owner, refused my money as she felt the cause was too important. Though she may not expect this thanks, it is important to point out that this kind of quiet generosity goes on every day in our community of talented, caring, people.
