News and Notes from The Community Center

Tue, 10/25/2016 - 6:00pm

This week, we begin five new, ongoing dance and exercise classes. This is an opportunity to limber up, dance it off, and have some fun! Tuesday: 3-way Fitness-Yoga/Pilates/Stretch with Lori Murray; Wednesday: Tai Chi For Arthritis with Mollie Pitcher Harrison; Thursday: Fiesta Suave Dance with Pat McKee; Friday: Zumba Gold (beginning Nov. 4) with Monica Churchill and Line Dancing with Bunny Blanchard. These classes meet in the new Annex space, are led by certified instructors and are free of charge.

Richard Plunkett has returned and will be conducting Antiques Appraisals beginning on Nov. 1 and continuing each Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon. Bring in your treasures for valuation. There is a $5 charge for each appraisal, or 3 for $10. All money goes to the Community Center to help defray expenses.

In The Little Red Wagon we are collecting Winter Coats For Seniors from now until the end of November. For each coat that is collected, L.L. Bean will donate $5 for fuel assistance for seniors. Clean, gently used winter coats can be brought in and placed in the wagon.

We are told that there is still time to register for The Health Center program, Fit Flexible and Strong. The deadline is Nov. 3. Information is available at the Community Center. Call 633-9876
