Michael William Beane, 64, of Southport passed away on Jan. 10, 2024.

A kinder soul will rarely cross your path than Mikey. Beloved by so many, Michael took a smile as a personal challenge, and never failed to put one on your face. A prankster, a comedian, Mike was generous to his core. Michael was a brother to everyone. Nothing mattered more to Mike than his many, many friends and family both near and afar. His admiration and compassion for animals was deep and well known. As are his many lawn ornaments. Mike was a local, through and through. Growing up in the region, playing softball, working at the Co-op, Sea Pier and the Southport General Store. Mike made eternal friendships beyond count with his sharp wit and thoughtful acts. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Michael was predeceased by his mother, June Lee Beane of Boothbay Harbor; his father, Alan Beane of Boothbay Harbor; and his uncle Earl "Mike" Dunton of Boothbay Harbor.

Michael is survived by his siblings, Becky Beane Smith (Mike) of Edgecomb, Sarah Abbe of Boothbay, William Beane (Laurie) of North Berwick, Karl Beane (Eliza) of Dresden, Sue Beane of Brunswick, brother-in-law John Abbe of Southport; nephews and nieces, Joshua Parkhurst, Joseph Parkhurst (Caitlyn), Hannah Abbe, Benjamin Abbe, Rachel Beane, Andrew Beane, Julie Beane, Caitlyn Beane, Samantha Beane. His great nephew and niece, Brian Abbe and Makayla Abbe and his aunt, Betsy Dunton of Boothbay Harbor and family. 

Arrangements are being made for a Celebration of Mike's Life to be announced soon, so please bring your best Mike Beane stories to share as we send him off. We will have prizes from his collection of lawn ornaments and figurines for those who wish to share. "Stay in trouble!"
