Harbor Fest 2013

Kick off the crawl!

Harbor Crawl kicks off the festivities
Fri, 09/27/2013 - 8:30pm

The Harbor Crawl kicked off the second annual Harbor Fest the night of September 27.

The Rocktide Trolley was packed with “crawlers” as it weaved through downtown Boothbay Harbor.

Store owners welcomed the eager mob with decorated storefronts and complimentary food and beverages as shoppers swept through 26 different shops and restaurants in three hours.

Event organizer Lori Pecor said she started the crawl to showcase the Boothbay region during the autumn months.

“The idea is to get people out and about on the streets and checking out the shops and the restaurants, meeting the locals, and just supporting local business,” Pecor said.

Harbor Fest will continue throughout the weekend with a festival in the waterfront Whale Park and a chili and chowder challenge on Saturday, followed by a 5k road race on Sunday. For a full schedule of Harbor Fest, click here
