Host a Fresh Air Fund child this summer

Find out about hosting a Fresh Air Fund friend from New York City for a week - or two - this summer.

Fresh Air Fund children are boys and girls, ages seven to 18, who live in New York City. The majority are from low-income communities. They typically live in apartment buildings, and are more familiar with busy city blocks than quiet country roads, but the kids who participate in the Friendly Towns Program are like any other – they want to play, laugh, make new friends, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life away from the city.

Eve Jamieson and her family in Boothbay have been hosting kids through the Fresh Air program since 1996.

“It’s a great experience for all the kids and both sets of parents, and a wonderful way to make new lifelong friends,” said Eve Jamieson of Boothbay. “Hosting through the Fresh Air Fund has been one of the most fun and rewarding things our family has ever done.  We can’t wait to welcome Nora’s “twin sister,” Ree, (that’s what they called themselves because they had so much in common) back this summer!”
