They’re bringing back the homecoming parade!

After several years of not holding a homecoming parade, the Boothbay Region High School student council, student body and administration have decided to hold one this year on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. the Boothbay Harbor Fire Station and travel up Townsend Avenue to the school. Following the parade of floats by each class, the traditional bonfire will be ignited.

Homecoming week will begin on Monday, Oct. 6, with students decorating the school hallways and holding dress-up “theme days” each day of the week.

To get ready for the games (field hockey, football and soccer) on Friday and Saturday, a pep rally will be held on Sherman Field on Thursday at noon.

The varsity girls field hockey game against Telstar on Friday will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Perkins Field and the football game against Oak Hill on Friday will begin at 7 p.m.

The varsity girls soccer game at Clifford Field in Boothbay against Oak Hill will begin at 11 a.m.

The concluding event will be a high school dance at the Boothbay Railway Village on Sunday, Oct. 12 between 8 and 11 p.m.
