Foundation seeks good PR person

Tue, 09/09/2014 - 11:00am

    Dear Editor:

The Boothbay Health and Wellness Foundation started out as a grassroots effort to save St. Andrews Hospital. Now we have evolved into a nonprofit corporation. Our purpose is: “To promote the health and wellness of all residents, visitors and those who have ties to the Boothbay region.” Our mission is: “To keep our community healthy and informed.”

We think we are doing a pretty good job in all areas except in the “keeping you informed” department! We need more hands on deck when it comes to public relations and community notification. One of the things we have learned in the past two years is how much talent and expertise there is in this retirement community. We have a good, working, established PR committee. We just want to bump it up to the next level. It is our hope that there may be some talented people out there who can join us.

Wanted: Public Relations Volunteers. Willing workers who have experience in the field or dreamers and schemers who have a creative edge and want to help the cause by getting the word out. We are open to suggestions, advice or diverse ideas. Brainstorming is encouraged.

I have lived in this community for a long time and one thing I do know is that when ever anybody needs help and reaches out and asks for it the response is usually overwhelming. Please overwhelm me! For more information or to volunteer, please call 207-633-2563.
