Dear Editor:

My wife and I attended the recent annual YMCA dinner. After enjoying the delicious dinner, catered by the Boat House Bistro, we listened as the recognition and awards began. The award for Character Development was to be presented by Hannah Morley.

Having attended annual dinners in the past, I knew this award recognizes outstanding members of our community whose contributions benefit many. Imagine my feelings as a couple of sentences into Hannah’s presentation, I realized she was speaking of me.

I am truly honored to receive this award and wish to express my appreciation to all those involved. I was especially moved by the well-researched and complimentary presentation by Hannah.

We have a great community and I feel privileged to serve our members.
