David W. Pennington

David W. Pennington, 73, of Hartford, Maine, died Dec. 7, 2014 at the Hospice House with his loving family at his side.

David was born in Boothbay Harbor on Sept. 2, 1941, a son of William and Eithel Pennington, and attended Boothbay schools.

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Spear in 1962.

For most of his life, David worked in construction. He worked for Cianbro for many years, Northeast Industrial, and more recently, Bancroft Contracting Corp. of South Paris.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling and camping.

He is survived by his partner for life, Betty of Hartford; two sons, Andy Pennington of Hartford and Stephen Pennington of New Jersey; his daughter, Erin Langlois and her husband, Daniel of Hartford; a stepson, Zachary Hall and his wife, Amber of Turner; a stepdaughter, Danielle Hall of Sabattus; three grandchildren, Kasey and Ashley Pennington, and Kaylee Langlois; three step-grandchildren, Hayleigh Hartman, and Chloe and Taylor Hall; several brothers, sisters and stepbrothers.

A celebration of David’s life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Hartford Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 122 Main Street, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are in care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris.
