BRES PTO Holiday Shop opens in lobby

    The Boothbay Region Elementary School Parents and Teachers Organization Holiday Sale for Kids is up and running in the BRES school lobby.

    The sale offers items ranging from 25 cents to $10 for students who want to purchase gifts for their family and friends. Students come by the store to preview items, carrying a clipboard to budget out their items. They take that list home to negotiate with parents and caretakers, and are given funds to go back and shop for presents.

    The PTO purchases the goods from an online company called Kids' Kastle, which ships the items to the PTO. The PTO is not charged for unsold items; they are shipped back to the company. Proceeds from the sale go toward future PTO projects.

    The sale will be going on for the rest of the week, and may extend to next Monday. More information can be found on the BRES Facebook page.
