Town Planning

Boothbay Harbor seeks public input

Wed, 01/09/2013 - 10:45am

Boothbay Harbor’s Comprehensive Plan Committee wants to hear from town residents and businesses.

The “Comp Plan” Committee is in the early phases of developing a new plan for the town’s future, and is conducting a survey of people who live, work or operate a business in Boothbay Harbor.

The survey is available online at the town’s website at www.boothbayharbor.org, also in paper form at the Town Office, Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA, in addition to volunteer outreach by committee members.

Citizen input is essential to the comprehensive planning process – it’s a chance to give feedback, direction, and ideas about this special community.

Results will be used by the committee to assist in evaluating the adequacy of existing public services, the condition of its marine and other natural resources, attitudes towards the local economy, housing, land use and transportation, and reasons why people live, work and/or recreate in Boothbay Harbor.

Each response is confidential, and the results will be aggregated and summarized. Year-round and seasonal residents of all ages, employees and business owners are encouraged to contribute to this important town-wide effort.
