Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club

Mon, 03/18/2024 - 7:45am

Last Thursday was a St. Paddy's Day themed social night, no speaker or program, just a chance to visit with Rotary friends.  There was some “wearing o’ the green,” green decorations, especially lots of  green gnomes, but no green beer, no corned beef and cabbage (Amy thought we'd all get plenty over the weekend and she was right). As usual, lots of laughter and conversation.

Teacher Appreciation Night is Friday, April 5 from 3 to 6 p.m. We’ve invited the teachers and staff from all the local schools to a Pizza Party at the Rotary Club to thank them for the important work they do. Last year we hosted about 50 teachers and staff members and hope for even more this year. So, we need your help:  just email Charlotte Jameson or Nancy Adams if you can help.

Then, ta-da,  the Big, Gray Rotary Barn opens for its fifth season on Saturday, April 6, usual time ... 8:30 to 11 a.m. We'll be open now every Saturday unless there is a big storm. Join us for the grand re-opening.

We are accepting donations of gently used furniture, pots/pans, dishes, collectibles, boats, tools, just about anything for the Big, Gray Rotary Barn. Your donations support the many projects and programs of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club. Just text or call Deb at 207-380-3550 for  a pick up or drop off of your donations.

This Thursday we are welcoming Erin Cooperrider and other members of the organization planning the income based housing project on Butler Road. One of our club’s major initiatives is increasing workforce or income based housing in our community to encourage families and a stable year round population. We're excited to welcome Erin Cooperrider to hear about this project.

If you're interested in the work and fun of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club join us any Thursday at 6 p.m. at our clubhouse at 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor. We welcome visiting Rotarians and community members to all our meetings.
