What: Damariscotta Early Bird Sale - A bright and early day of shopping, and grabbing some of the best bargains of the year - many discounts from 20% to 50% off regular prices, some storewide, others two for the price of one, and door prizes are offered by some participants. Some merchants offer free coffee and various types of pastries.

The range of products is broad! Jewelry, flooring, paint, food, hair styling, eye glasses, portrait photography, apparel,  fabric, massage therapy, gifts, fashion accessories, hardware, candles, antiques, cosmetics, furniture, art and framing, pottery, pet supplies, baby items . . .

Where: Damariscotta's Business Route 1 shopping district - and stores in Newcastle and as far away as Edgecomb - On the way to or from Damariscotta, be sure to check out the bargains at On Board Fabrics in Edgecomb. Travel up and down Main Street from the Route 1 exit in Newcastle, just west of Damariscotta, to the interchange with Route 1 north of downtown.

When: Saturday, November 1, 2014, officially from 6 - 9am, but some stores offer all day specials The earlier you shop, the bigger the bargains.

How: Target your favorite stores and show up when they offer the biggest discounts. Then, visit other stores you don't know as well to find bargains you can't resist. Whatever you do, have fun!
