BRCRC hires an executive director
To more effectively meet our mission of assisting persons in need on the Boothbay peninsula, and to improve organizational and operational efficiency, the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council (BRCRC) has hired its first executive director, a grant-funded position for 18 months. Katie Spencer White will assume the position in early March, with her office located in the same suite of offices currently used by the Community Navigator.
Katie brings 17 years of experience to the position with five of them as a senior leader and board member in the nonprofit sector. She spent several years as a classroom teacher in this country and later as a practicing lawyer in the United Kingdom, where she would meet her husband. During her 11 years in the UK, she also served as the executive director of a multi-agency children’s partnership focusing on serving children and families. Her most recent position was as the chief partnership officer for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville, Virginia.
Katie, with husband and children, have had a long interest in moving to this part of the country and will find temporary accommodation in the region while they search for their new home here.
