Candy maker speaks at Garden Club
The Boothbay Region Garden Club welcomes club member and candy creator Sara Fahnley as the featured speaker for the Wednesday, Feb. 13 meeting at St. Columba’s Church at noon.
Sara started her candy business, “And Candy, Too,” in time for Valentine’s Day 2010 and has been producing delicious confections and related items of chocolate ever since.
With a varied background in teaching, finance, medical and commercial positions, she decided to turn her hobby of making confections into a business. She enjoys being her own boss. Creative packaging is also a fun challenge and she enjoys creating the special desires of her clients. Only the very best Callebaut chocolate is used in her confections. Sara is in the process of securing a Website, and can be found on Facebook. Sara lives in Boothbay with her husband, John.
Garden Club members and guests will be able to enjoy learning about the history of chocolate and sample some of Sara’s “goodies.”
The meeting will also include flower designs with the theme of “Love” or “Chocolate.” Box lunches will be available for $6.50 (payable to BRGC) for lunch by calling Alice Schambra (207-633-7162) by February 9 with your choice of sandwich or you may bring your own. Guests are always welcome.
