'The House Marie Antoinette Didn’t Live In'
Beginning in mid-February, the Lincoln County Historical Association will offer its annual series of talks by local historians and artisans. The presentations begin at 2 p.m. on four consecutive Sundays in the Communications (or “911”) Building behind the Lincoln County Court House in Wiscasset. Suggested donation is $5.
Wiscasset author Lea Wait will tell stories about “The House Marie Antoinette Didn’t Live In.” Wait’s family home, known as The Marie Antoinette House, has been the center of much speculation and legend for the past two hundred years.
The Lincoln County Historical Association is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides stewardship for the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta, the 1761 Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, and the 1811 Old Jail and Museum in Wiscasset.
