Boothbay Region High School seniors announce college choices
May 1 is National College Decision Day, when high school seniors need to make a final decision on what colleges they will attend. On Tuesday, May 2, Boothbay Region High School held a short all-school assembly in the gym so seniors could do just that. Students, most of them wearing their new school’s emblem on hats, tee shirts, or sweatshirts, waited behind Kerrin Erhard as she introduced them to BRHS staff and students.
“For many of them, this has been the biggest decision of their lives so far. Seniors have spent the last year or more searching, visiting, applying, waiting, stressing, and finally choosing their school. This morning, we celebrate their hard work and their final decision,” Erhard said. With that, students came up individually to the podium, announced their college choice, and their major, if they know it yet. Afterward, they gathered on the bleachers for a group photograph.
