Ford, Tomacelli win Boothbay selectmen seats
Challengers Kristina Ford and Mike Tomacelli won seats to the Boothbay Board of Selectmen Monday night. Ford received the most votes in a field of four candidates vying for two seats. Ford received 274 votes and Tomacelli received 171. Challenger Jennifer Ziegra finished third with 149 and incumbent Stephen Ham finished fourth with 102. Residents cast 96 blank ballots in the selectmen’s race, according to town offcials.
Kari Babcock defeated former superintending school committee member William Bailey, 245 to 107. The other three races were uncontested. Kevin Anthony received 324 votes for a three-year term as a Boothbay Region Water District trustee. Lorraine Hodgdon received 335 votes to earn a seat as Boothbay Region Cemetery District trustee. And Ashleeann Lowery received 310 votes as a Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community District Trustee. Each municipal office is a three-year term.
