LincolnHealth offering falls prevention program

Improve your balance and reduce your risk of falling at LincolnHealth’s falls prevention program, “Balancing Act.” This free, four-week program will be held at the Wellness and Rehabilitation Department on the LincolnHealth- St. Andrews Campus. Classes will take place on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting Thursday, Feb. 2.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among persons aged 65 years and older. This fun, interactive program is designed to help participants include techniques in their daily lives to improve their balance and reduce their risk of falling. The program will educate participants about achieving good balance by using videos, balance screenings, gym equipment and exercises.
Balancing Act will be led by Heather Brewer, PT, LincolnHealth, and Deborah Hidu, COTA/L, LincolnHealth.
