Where’s Miss Piggy gone to?
You may have noticed our local porcine celebrity, Miss Piggy, is missing from her pedestal.
Edgecomb’s Harbor Master Corning Townsend was so concerned for her welfare he called me to discover her whereabouts.
I knew a quick call to Joan Rittall at Salt River Farm in Boothbay was in order.
She chuckled when I told her a special call had been placed to find out what had happened to Miss Piggy.
“Well, Miss Piggy is in the hospital for surgery — she was experiencing some ...” Rittall’s voice took on an even quieter tone than usual, “She was experiencing internal problems that had to be taken care of.”
Rittall, knowing how adored Boothbay’s porcine fashion plate is, quickly added, “After her physical therapy she will be returning sometime early in the new year.”
I immediately called the harbor master back. Townsend was relieved to hear Miss Piggy would be back.
“We can’t lose her,” Townsend said.
Indeed! Get well soon Miss Piggy, we miss you!
