Santa Claus coming to Damariscotta Nov. 26
The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce expects to be joined by children from across the region as Santa comes to town on Saturday, Nov. 26, at noon! He’ll be brought down Main Street in Newcastle and Damariscotta in a Jeep provided by Newcastle Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep, the parade sponsor. Children from Coastal Kids Preschool will escort him on his way.
The parade will also include fire trucks from Newcastle and Damariscotta, and police cars from both the Lincoln County Sheriff and the Town of Damariscotta. The parade will feature a lively performance on Main Street by our local dance troupe, Renys Rockets, led by Midcoast Dance Studio’s proprietor, Faye Cain.
Following the parade, families are invited to join Santa at Lincoln Theater for a photo opportunity as the children tell Santa just what they want for Christmas. Parents are asked to bring their own cameras to capture the moment. The children will then be treated to a free showing of the popular children’s movie, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
As Cindy Wade, board president, says, “The Chamber is delighted to bring Santa to our community. We are grateful that we can bring such joy to the children right here in downtown Newcastle and Damariscotta as we kick off the holiday shopping season.”
