Cruise and cookout planned for all veterans
Fri, 09/09/2016 - 6:15pm
The Boothbay Region Lobstermen are hosting a special event for all veterans — with or without disabilites — a boat ride and cookout on Thursday, Sept. 22. Raindate is Sept. 23.
It all starts off in the morning with coffee and donuts at the Tugboat Inn & Restaurant on Commercial Street (just like the event in 2014), at 9 a.m. After “breakfasting” and socializing, everyone will take to the water at approximately 11 a.m. aboard the participating lobster boats in the Boothbay region.
After cruising around on the surrounding waters, the boat returns to Tugboat for classic cookout fare: hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages (soft and hard)!
Be sure to RSVP (with name and number of people coming with you) to Phil Chapman by Monday, Sept. 19, by phone, 380-7020 or email, chapmanmax@msn.com.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help with this event — boat captains, cooks, sponsors, friends or family members of a vet, etc. should be at Kaler’s (also on Commercial Street) for an organizational meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. Questions? Can’t make the meeting, but want to help on Sept. 22? Call Phil!
