Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce

Meet the 2016 Claw Down chefs

Wed, 09/07/2016 - 3:30pm

Now in its fifth year, Claw Down, the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce ‘s annual lobster-bite competition will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ocean Point Marina in East Boothbay. Claw Down was created to focus attention on the Maine lobster industry and showcase the talents and culinary expertise of local and regional chefs.

The Claw Down lobster-bite competition draws attendees from all over the country who have a chance to sample all the chef’s savory offerings along with a selection of beers and wines from craft brewers and vintners. Guests and a panel of celebrity judges pick their favorite bite in this movable feast held in a beautifully transformed boatyard. Claw Down is a great way to celebrate what is unique and special about the Boothbay Harbor Region and show off our chef’s culinary prowess.

Claw Down requires a tremendous commitment on the part of the participating chefs. It's the end of a very busy summer season. For many of them, it means shutting down their restaurants for the evening or bringing precious back up staff in order to participate in the event.

It is important to acknowledge without the commitment from our chefs, Claw Down would not be possible. Simply put, they are the main ingredient that makes Claw Down so unique and so much fun!

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize and thank the following chefs for their participation in our Fifth Annual Claw Down Competition. We wish each and every one of them the best of luck at Claw Down!
