The new granite steps are in!

A total of 56 volunteer hours, by eight expert stone workers, and the generosity of two special sponsors (Knickerbocker Group of Boothbay & J.C. Stone of Jefferson) went into completing this pair of perfect granite stairs at the entrance of the 1847 Boothbay Town Hall at the Boothbay Railway Village.
The stairs, installed Aug. 25, are a gift to the Museum as well as to the residents of the town of Boothbay. The town of Boothbay maintains ownership of the building with the Museum taking responsibility for its maintenance in a unique partnership forged nearly 30 years ago when the 1847 Boothbay Town Hall was relocated from the lot soon to be occupied by the new Boothbay Ambulance Service to the Museum’s campus.
