Two Salty Dogs hosts 4th annual Mutt Scrub

Two Salty Dogs pet supply store in Boothbay Harbor hosted the 4th annual Mutt Scrub on the lawn opposite the store on Saturday, July 30. All proceeds from the event benefited Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Edgecomb.
In addition to dog washing and toenail clippings, dog product retailers displayed their wares for sale.
A raffle of items from jewelry to restaurant gift certificates donated by area merchants provided additional funds to support the shelter.
For entertainment there were dog trick and dog musical chairs competitions.
Representatives of the shelter brought several dogs eligible for adoption.
Two Salty Dogs co-owner Don Kingsbury said the event was kicking off a special fund in honor of his dog, Coal, who recently died of liver cancer.
Kingsbury said the fund was in conjunction with the Boothbay Animal Hospital and Dr. Dean Domeyer who he credited with the humane treatment of Coal in his last days.
Kingsbury said Two Salty Dogs would match all $10 contributions which in turn Domeyer will double in credit for emergency services when the owner is unable to pay.
“That is a $40 credit,” said Kingsbury.
All donations may be mailed to Two Salty Dogs, P.O. Box 602, McKown Street, Boothbay Harbor, ME with a check notation of Coal.
